I live in Massachusetts, and had seen this bumper sticker a number of times. And judging from my conversations with local schoolteachers, they actually believe it.

Yes, I suppose you could take it that way. In this case, though, she meant it literally…at least judging by her other bumper sticker, which read: “Sow the seeds of peace and justice”.
