Here’s an interesting site with a series of Mars base renderings, including a QuickTime VR version of a typical Mars Direct landing site.

The images depict Mars Direct missions, and the construction of a subterranean brick base like “Underhill” from Robinson’s Mars trilogy.

Unfortunately, I can’t find any names on the site (aside from the “Mallon-Day” watermark on each of the images), so I can’t give credit to those responsible.
