IN CASE IT WASN’T CLEAR: I seem to not have made my point with my original post regarding Prometheus.

I’m hoping that Prometheus ends up being a program to develop a nuclear electric propulsion system, because I expect this would provide us with something critical to manned exploration and settlement of space: a nuclear power source. Never mind the propulsion function to which it would be applied in Prometheus, the real prize is the power source itself.
