MARS CZAR Orlando Figueroa is interviewed at Space.com.
No big revelations: ongoing and expanded robot missions to Mars, including several rovers and possibly multiple sample return missions, but no plans for humans. He gives the usual “we don’t know enough” argument, but allows that the rovers will be able to find out a lot of what we might need. Interestingly, the article repeatedly refers to looking for water for support of settlements — so at least the idea is being considered.
